My parents’s house

My parents’ house was built about 40 years ago when I was in preschool. I lived there until I graduated from high school. Sometimes I go back to my parents’ home with my family and notice that the house is getting old. I recommended its renovation to my mother. However, she doesn’t want to renovate it. It seems that she believes that if a house were renovated, something bad would happen. Have you ever heard of it?
